One Ark are working in partnership with The University of Liverpool and Knowsley Community College to launch a new pre-apprenticeship scheme.
Beginning in February and running for 6 months, the pre-apprenticeship scheme is open to all applicants aged between 16-17 and who have, or are expect to achieve, GCSE Grades D-F in Maths and English.
Students will work towards level 1 and 2 qualifications and be guaranteed an interview for a full apprenticeship with the University at the end. They will earn £140 per week and get 12 days paid holiday.
10 places are available in departments across the University, including:
4 lab technicians in:
- Clinical Molecular and Cancer Medicine
- Cellular and Molecular Physiology
- Women’s Hospital
4 administrative staff in:
- Student Services Centre
- Marketing and Communications
- Physical Sciences
2 ICT technicians in:
- Wolfson Centre for Personalised Medicine
- Central Teaching Labs
More places will be announced soon, including one at the University’s dairy farm and animal hospital.
Applicants must be reliable, get on well with people, willing to learn, and enjoy working as part of a team.
